Role Overview
As a Phlebotomist with Azzur Workforce Solutions, you'll provide a critical first step in the diagnostic process — collecting blood and other specimens from patients across a wide range of clinical settings in Los Angeles County. Our partner facilities include acute care hospitals, outpatient clinics, reference laboratories, and mobile collection programs. Whether you're an experienced phlebotomist seeking consistent per diem shifts or looking for full-time stability, Azzur will place you where your skills are put to best use.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on adult and pediatric patients
- Correctly identify patients, label specimens, and maintain chain of custody documentation
- Process and transport specimens to the laboratory per established protocols
- Calm anxious patients and ensure a comfortable, professional blood draw experience
- Follow all infection control, biohazard handling, and safety procedures
- Enter collection data accurately into laboratory information systems (LIS)
Requirements
- California Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I) certification — required
- National phlebotomy certification (NHA, ASCP, AMT) — preferred
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
- Experience with difficult draws (pediatric, elderly, oncology patients) a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and patient-centered approach
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly valued at many partner locations
