Role Overview
As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with Azzur Workforce Solutions, you'll perform complex diagnostic testing that directly informs patient treatment decisions at partner hospitals and reference laboratories across Los Angeles County. CLS professionals are essential to modern healthcare — analyzing blood, tissue, and other specimens across disciplines including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology. Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret laboratory tests across disciplines: hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments per manufacturer and CLIA standards
- Perform quality control procedures and document results per laboratory protocols
- Report critical values to the appropriate clinical staff in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions and investigate discrepant test results
- Maintain accurate specimen processing, labeling, and chain of custody documentation
Requirements
- Active California CLS license — required
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
- 1+ years of clinical laboratory experience preferred
- ASCP certification (MT/MLS) a strong plus
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and automated analyzers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time pressure
